An Unflattened Identity and Change Knowledge Graph

Introduction

This demo showcases the concept of 'thick knowledge graphs' as defined in the Trifecta project, meaning a knowledge graph in which entities are contextualised. This demo was created with data from 18th and 19th century books on commodities trade, as well as a selection of Wikipedia articles, a complete list can be found in Documents at the bottom of this page. The codebase for this demo can be found at https://github.com/trifecta-project/idchkg.

The same concept can be a plant, a drink, and a colonial commodity at once. Here concepts are kept as distinct senses, and every claim carries the perspective that makes it — so different narratives sit side by side. See the timeline for the historical sweep.
